VP Product
Job Description:
UNIPAL
Location Central Team — Bahrain HQ
Reports to CEO (direct)
Level VP / Director
Scope Bahrain · KSA · Expansion
The Role
Unipal is where Gulf youth discover brands for the first time. Product is what makes them stay.
This is not a role for someone who manages timelines and runs standups. We need someone who has a genuine point of view on what a product should become, the taste to know when something is not good enough, and the drive to fix it.
You will report directly to the CEO and own the full product function: where it goes, how it gets built, and the team that makes it happen.
What You Own
Product Strategy - Where the product goes, why, and in what order. You set the direction
User Experience - How users activate, engage, and stay. Every flow, every decision, every moment that matters
Roadmap & Delivery - What gets built, when, and to what standard. You own the output
Product Intelligence - Understanding why users do what they do, and using that to build what they need next
Team Leadership - Build and lead the product team. Set the bar and hold it
What You'll Actually Do
- Define where the product goes across Bahrain, KSA, and new markets. Not a list of features. A real direction with a real rationale.
- Own the numbers that tell you if the product is working: how many users activate, how many come back, how deeply they engage.
- Build a roadmap that gets ahead of where users are going, not just responds to where they have been.
- Work with engineering and design to ship things that actually land. Hold the quality bar. If it is not good enough, it does not go out.
- Understand users deeply. Not from surveys. From watching what they do, reading what the data says, and knowing what it means.
- Build, manage, and develop the product team. Get the best out of people and set the standard for how product works at Unipal.
- Work directly with the CEO on product direction, new market launches, and the big calls.
Hard Requirements
- Proven track record building consumer products people genuinely love and keep coming back to.
- Experience taking a product through a significant growth phase, with the results to show for it.
- At least one example of diagnosing why users were not activating or retaining, and fixing it.
- Experience leading a product team and raising the standard of how they work.
Who You Are
- You have strong product taste. You know what good feels like and you are bothered when something falls short.
- You understand consumer behaviour, not from decks but from genuine curiosity about why people do what they do.
- You think forward. Your best work anticipates what users need before they can say it.
- You own outcomes. If something is not working, you diagnose it and fix it. You do not explain it.
- You can write a clear brief, align a team, and make a call when it matters.
- You have managed product people and know how to bring out the best in them.
- Understanding of Gulf youth culture is a strong advantage.
